After working together closely for over a year, in the spring of 2011 Harvey Lynch entered into a relationship with MCS Oil Inc., of Cairo, Egypt forming an alliance in the Gulf of Mexico for performing subsea video inspections with proprietary software and CSWIP certified inspection engineers and coordinators.

By combining the knowledge, experience, and technology of both HLI and MCS in the line of subsea inspection business, our clients now have access to a suite of powerful and comprehensive, tailor-made subsea inspection solutions.

With the might of MCS Oil software & service experience and the local Gulf of Mexico experience track record of Harvey-Lynch, the subsea inspection solution packages we now offer can be provided either separately or combined to suit our clients' needs.

MCS Pipeline Commander...

MCS' "Pipeline Commander" suite is a complete solution designed for all types of ROV pipeline and cable inspections.

The software package contains separate modules which are combined into a multi-user environment and integrated together by a database and server.

The package covers digital video recording, survey-sensor data acquisition, processing, charting, and reporting of subsea pipeline, routes, and cable surveys.

The ROV Pipeline Commander is designed for:

  • Pre-engineering and Pre-lay surveys
  • Debris clearance surveys
  • Pre and post trenching surveys
  • As-laid, as-trenched and as-built surveys
  • Pipeline and cable inspections
MCS' Pipeline Commander has an excellent record of inspecting more than 31 million feet of pipelines and cables worldwide to date.
MCS Platform Commander...

MCS' application suite "ROV Platform Commander" is a complete solution for all types of platform and subsea asset inspections.

The suite provides data acquisition, eventing, digital video, processing, charting, and reporting modules that presents a more comprehensive, integrated, and easy to use platform inspection database system.

ROV Platform Commander comprises the following modules:

  • Online Eventing Module:
    This module controls the recording of events and links it to the digital video

  • ROV Platform Commander Viewer:
    This is a user friendly program by which the user can browse all inspection data by few clicks

MCS' Platform Commander has been used to inspect more than 300 platforms worldwide.

MCS Video Lite...

The MCS Video Lite system is a simplified video capture tool designed for small jobs that have single camera needs and is the perfect replacement for DVD recorders. The system records NTSC/PAL video from ROV/Diver cameras at remarkably reduced file-sizes maintaining high quality video and efficiently managing high volumes data. The system comprises four applications:

  • Video Lite/DVE Application:
    This module captures the ROV camera and cotrols the digital recording processes

  • Video Controller Application:
    Controls the Video Lite Application, Start/Stop Recording and selects the resolution required and acts as a monitoring tool to give warning alerts when video file sizes or disk free-space reach allocated thresholds.

  • Auto Backup Application:
    Automatically back up recorded videos in designated primary, secondary, and even tertiary storage destinations.

  • Video Player: :
    A digital video viewer application where videos may be filtered by date/time (also played in Windows Media Player).

Some benefits of using Video Lite are:

  • Significantly reducing file sizes. Files on average, are 15-20% of other video software file sizes going from approximately 2,000 MB/hour down to 300 MB/hour or even less at PAL resolution. This significant reduction in video file size allows the video to be rapidly available around a network reducing latency and increasing efficiency for reporting operations.

  • Frequently replenishing high-capacity RAID-type mass storage devices is not required reducing costs by as much as 4-5 times and minimizing operational interruptions.

  • Risk of data loss is significantly minimized via data redundancy as Video files are copied to Secondary storage devices.

  • By combining the application with a simple spreadsheet it makes for the most expedient and simplest way of recording and eventing small scale, visual inspection projects.

MCS Video Broadcaster...

The MCS Video Broadcaster is an excellent tool to keep a realtime eye on your field operations. With advanced high-compression video broadcasting capability this tool allows clients to monitor their operations as seen by the camera on the ROV in realtime.

ROV Platform Commander comprises the following modules:
  • Video Broadcaster:
    This module transmits in realtime, a single PAL/NTSC camera including HD video.

  • Video Player: :
    This small application displays the videos as broadcasted from the vessels/camera location and also provides the users the capaibilty to record the broadcasts to their local hard drive.

We are proud to say that we were one of the first companies to broadcast ROV camera images live and in HD from offshore in the Gulf of Mexico.

Additional Capabilities...

The following additional capabilities are provided in conjunction with the MCS software and services listed above:

  • Data Processing and Management:
    We have the full capability of processing and reporting all collected data including captured videos and all other sensor information to produce reports in any format including GIS deliverables. Our unique capability of producing 2-4 times smaller video files for the same video time recorded by competition and viewing multiple surveys including past records in real time makes us the leaders in this aspect.

  • Certified Inspection Coordinators:
    Together with our inspection solutions we also provide a pool of professionals including CSWIP certified inspection engineers and coordinators with significant project experience in both the GoM and overseas.

  • HD Video:
    We have the capability to support all HD video capture, overlay and broadcasting aspects for single or three camera integrated solutions. Our reduced files sizes but maintained quality allow these files to be transmitted digitally to shore.

  • Video Telemetry:
    By using the HLI "V-TEL" in-house video-telemetry system we also offer a superior local video telemetry broadcast system to transmit video between vessels & platforms in the field. This system enables other working spreads to view video activities as occuring on remote vessels. We have a proven record of transmitting video to 26+ km in the GoM.
